Why Write?

I’ve been asked why I write the kinds of things I write.  I chose to write murder mysteries, ghost stories, fighting with demons and all sorts of scary creatures.

Why do I write these things?  Well, in part, because it’s fun.  As an added bonus, if I can make someone forget their problems for just a little while, that’s even better.

Then, there is another benefit.  That is encouraging others to write.  Encouraging them to put their thoughts down on paper.  I especially encourage those suffering with PTSD to write it out, if for no other reason, to have an outlet for their own nightmares.

So, there are many reasons to write.  And, not to let anyone think my motives are completely altruistic, the money is kind of nice, too.
